The University of New Mexico and Steve Alford have reached an agreement to a 10-year contract extension that will keep the men’s basketball coach at the school through 2023.

The University did not immediately release additional information regarding the contract terms. Further details are expected later today.

In six years at the helm, Alford led UNM to four Mountain West Conference regular-season titles, including this season. He has a 155-51 record as UNM’s head coach.

His Lobos won its second consecutive MWC tournament championship last weekend and earned a No. 3 seed at the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. UNM takes on No. 14 seed Harvard Thursday in Salt Lake City.
