Monday on the street

Albuquerque lawyer Jason Marks recently accused UNM of being “anti-solar energy.” What are your thoughts on UNM’s use of solar energy on campus?

Britt Westvang
Finance, senior

“As far as I’m concerned, it is not as solar friendly as I would like. Well at least from what I know … UNM is not very transparent when it comes to their sustainability, so I’m not quite sure I know everything that UNM is doing to live up to one of those pillars.”

Jessica Quick
Nursing, junior

“We could have some more. We just built that new building, the education building. We could’ve put some on there and used solar panels for that.”

Ranja Andriamanana
Political science, freshman

“All I can say is, well, there are places here that don’t conserve at all, like the lights are always on.

Matt Voiles
Medical laboratory sciences, junior

“They’re guilty of that. I don’t think I’ve seen any solar stuff around here, but I think they have to. I think they should.”
