Stretch your critical thinking muscle (also known as your brain) at the Chess and Mahjong Night, hosted by Mantis Kung Fu. The gaming session starts at 6:30 p.m. and players are invited to bring their own chess or mahjong sets. Mantis Kung Fu is located at 6910 Montgomery Blvd. N.E. All ages.

Wednesday
Santa Fe poet Wayne Lee will read his poems to the sweet flutings of Wendy Dankoff at Bookworks. The evening event will kick off at 7 p.m. Bookworks is located at 4022 Rio Grande Blvd. N.W. All ages.

Friday
Local musician Chris Dracup has no shortages of performances. His show at the Monte Vista Fire Station will be his third this week alone. Come check him out at 9:30 p.m. Monte Vista Fire Station is located at 3201 Central Ave. N.E. 21
For the birds
Saturday
