Moseley appointed executive vice chancellor of UAMS
Dr. Pope L. Moseley, professor and chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at the UNM School of Medicine, has been named dean of the College of Medicine and executive vice chancellor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, according to a Health Sciences Center press release.
Moseley, who joined the faculty at the UNM Health Sciences Center in 1995, is a School of Medicine distinguished professor, and he has also served at the UNM Health Sciences Center as an associate dean for research and chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, the statement said.
“I have greatly enjoyed my time at UNM – I have learned so much,” Moseley said. “I thank the HSC, School of Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine for allowing me to lead a wonderful group of faculty who are committed to serving the people of New Mexico.”
Atanassov takes charge of UNM’s Center for Micro-Engineered Materials
Plamen Atanassov, a distinguished professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, has been appointed as director of UNM’s Center for Micro-Engineered Materials, according to a UNM press release.
Vice President for Research Michael Dougher announced the appointment.
Atanassov is an internationally recognized expert on new materials and technology for electrochemical power sources, according to the statement.
Anderson School of Management honors Hall of Fame inductees
The UNM Anderson School of Management has announced their 2015 Hall of Fame honorees.
According to a UNM press release, the inductees are Sam Baca, Steven W. Keene, Carlo Lucero, Carol Sallee and Manuel Julian R. Montoya.
Montoya, a professor in the Department of Finance, International, Technology and Entrepreneurship, was honored with the Faculty Community Leadership Award, according to the statement.
