Men’s basketball
New Mexico will only play Wyoming and Colorado State once this season due to the Mountain West’s unbalanced schedule.
The league released the conference schedules for each team earlier this week.
UNM will play Nevada in the conference opener on Dec. 30 at WisePies Arena, aka The Pit. The Lobos will then travel to Fresno State for their first MW road game on Jan. 2.
The Mountain West plays an unbalanced schedule because there are 11 teams in the conference, forcing some teams to only play each other once in the course of the season.
UNM’s lone meeting against Wyoming will take place on Jan. 16 at home. The Lobos will travel to Fort Collins to play CSU on Feb. 24.
Times for all games will be finalized at a later date.

Women’s basketball
UNM will wait until the middle of the conference season for its rematch against Mountain West tournament champion Boise State.
The Broncos beat the Lobos in last year’s MW tournament final for the automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.
UNM will travel to Nevada for the first conference game of the season on Dec. 30. The Lobos’ conference home-opener will be against Fresno State on Jan 2.
The Lobos will play Wyoming and Colorado State just once this season because of the league’s unbalanced schedule.

Track & Field
Peter Callahan was named to the 2015 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America team for men’s track & field/cross country.
Callahan is the sixth athlete to be honored for the Lobo track/cross country program in the past three years.
In 2013, Callahan earned the same honor when he was named to the first team as a member for the Princeton Tigers. Callahan was an All-American in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championships after taking fourth place.
UNM’s Josh Dye was named to the second team earlier this year for men’s soccer.
