Column: Student Success Week to Help Students Achieve Success

Why do we "do" college? Is it for the countless networking opportunities? Maybe for the new friends and the good times? Or could it be for the extracurricular and intermural sports that are offered? Arguably, as students we could say we enjoy college for all of these reasons, but we "do" college, or attend college, for a very specific reason: to gain an education in order to be successful in the world. ASUNM really wants to make sure we are able to focus on the "why" of college; the success aspect. So, this week, we bring you "Student Success Week".

Student Success Week is something that my current Chief of Staff, Miss Tori Pryor, was able to create last year in her role as Outreach and Appointments Chair. The idea behind the week is simple. We want to provide services, items, and food to our students the week prior to finals in order to promote student success. ASUNM isn't simply here to be a faux student government. We are here to make sure we are supporting our students in any way, shape, or form they made need, and finals week is one of the most intense weeks of the semester. In order to make sure we are supporting the success of our students, we bring YOU free bluebooks, free coffee, free food, and free events. Check out the calendar below for specifics, and please stop by to take advantage of the opportunities YOUR student government is providing for YOUR success! Happy Student Success Week everyone!

Jenna Hagengruber is the ASUNM president for the 2015-2016 school year.
