'Techno Guy' has the same rights as everyone else on campus

Editor,

The fact that the UNM Techno Guy is not allowed to play music outside the SUB on Tuesdays and Thursdays between his classes is mind blowing.

UNM allows monstrous displays of abortion and “James the Apostle” preaching his ideology day after day for the last two weeks, and gives local musicians the opportunity to display their talents by the bronze statues where the sound spills into classrooms.

Regardless of what genre of music you prefer, the UNM Techno Guy isn’t disrupting “learning” taking place outside the SUB, but promoting good tunes, great conversation and providing a much-needed break from classes. Try taking a minute away from your iPods and cell phones as you travel across campus: Do you like being an ant?

This seems like a moot point for a liberal campus that tries to promote individuality and self expression. Bring the techno back and bring back your rights.

Thank you for stopping that auditory abuse. Let him play that on his ipod and quit harassing the rest of the UNM population. In the midst of a disastrous semester for UNM (see football coach and president), they finally got one right.

I have always found the “techno guy” distracting and annoying! If freedom is the case being argued, I’ll petition to blare black metal.

Personally I love the Techno Guy and think that its wonderful that he is able to be himself and show the word his terrific personality. The ones who are not afraid to put themselves out there and show that they can be their own person is highly respectable and should be looked up to, not frowned upon. Techno Guy is a one of a kind person and has spunk. I give him two thumbs up for his continuous ability to make me smile everyday as I pass by his exquisite taste in music and his fantastic dance moves. Long live Techno Guy :)

What difference does it make if the Techno guy bumps to his goofy tunes? I’m not a fan of techno at all but the guy always put a smile on my face when I walked by, I get a kick out of his passion. He’s not hurting anyone, so I really don’t understand why any action was taken against him. I am a Catholic christian and when I walk by “James the Apostle” I must say it even makes me uncomfortable because I dont understand what he’s trying to get at by shouting bible verses at people; but Techno guy is just enjoying his own music. I actually miss the goofy dude, I was wondering why he didn’t jam his beats anymore.
