Dashing fellows best their own times
Two time zones, two days and two athletes making statements.
The UNM track and field team is a force to reckon with, especially runners Lee Emanuel and Rory Fraser, who broke UNM records over the weekend.

Runner thrives in teammate's absence
Rory Fraser didn’t seem to mind teammate Lee Emanuel’s noticeable absence in the mile run event on Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Fraser thrived in the mile, finishing in first with a time of 4:10.31 but came in 11th in the 800-meter run. JAN 25
Nationals in sight, a few steps farther
Two teams, two different futures. The men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the NCAA Mountain Regional at the UNM Championship Golf Course on Saturday, but the Lobos couldn’t keep up the momentum they built in their previous victories. The women’s team turned in an uncharacteristic performance, coming in fifth place, after finishing first in the Mountain West Conference Championships. That left them in a tough spot, head coach Joe Franklin said. “Nationals is still possible,” he said. NOV 15
