Texas Tech's Ronald Ross waged his campaign for homecoming king, but West Virginia's Kevin Pittsnogle crashed the coronation.
Ross, a native of New Mexico, put up 16 points - 10 of them in the second half - but it wasn't enough as the Red Raiders lost to the Mountaineers, 65-60.
Lobos Wall and Osby to transfer out of UNM
Lobo head coach Ritchie McKay announced Thursday that sophomore guard Ryan Wall and freshman forward Bambale Osby will transfer out of UNM.
Neither player has indicated where he will go after completing the spring semester.
Wall averaged 1.2 points for the Lobos in 25 games this year but saw a significant increase in playing time after starting point guard Kris Collins broke his foot in late January.
