Health Sciences Center administrator Dale Alverson, left, walks through the Super Colon ahead of graduate students George Kyei, center, and Alex Davis on Tuesday on north campus. Alverson said he reluctantly had a colonoscopy earlier this year, during which they discovered three polyps, which were removed. "I would have never known if I hadn't had the procedure," he said. The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation set up the inflatable 8-foot tall, 20-foot long replica of a human colon to spread awareness about colorectal cancer and to celebrate National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
