Some students might have to choose between a teacher with years of experience or one with novel ways of thinking. If accepted into the UNM Honors Program, students might be lucky to study under professor Diane Rawls, who is knowledgeable in both capacities.
Following Bond D’s failure in November, students and faculty are dealing with the aftermath of effects that voters might have overlooked. Student Stav Gold said he didn’t know about the bond, which would have provided $155 million to promote higher education among 31 state colleges and universities. “I didn’t know specifically what Bond D was,” he said.
Some professors change the way students see the world. For many at UNM, that professor may be Stephen Alley. As the psychology department’s only full-time lecturer, Alley forms meaningful student-teacher relationships at the University, student Carolina Ortega said.
