Thanks to a season-high 22 turnovers, the New Mexico women’s basketball team lost 76-56 at UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev.
Guard Sara Halasz and forward Deeva Vaughn both scored a team-high 11 points for UNM. UNLV forward Alana Cesarz hit 6 of 9 shots for a game-high 15 points.
UNM (7-8, 2-2 Mountain West) trailed 40-17 at halftime mostly due to 14 turnovers that resulted in 17 points for UNLV.
The Lobos shot 40.7 percent from the field while the Rebels (6-10, 3-1 MW) hit 53.6 of their shot attempts.
