Win over Falcons makes 21 straight

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo There is no place like home for the UNM men's basketball team. The Lobos extended their winning streak at The Pit to 21 straight, defeating the conference-leading Air Force Academy 62-59 on Saturday night. "I am very impressed with Air Force," head coach Ritchie McKay said.

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo The UNM men's soccer team gave Albuquerque a reason to tailgate, rush the field and get excited about UNM fall sports. Tournament games sold out for the men's soccer team this season and bars were packed with fans for the semifinal and final games.

Clemson Tigers down, Maryland to go

Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo Cary, N.C. - The UNM men's soccer team is one win away from the most coveted position in college soccer. Unfortunately Clemson's head coach, Trevor Adair, didn't think the Lobos earned it. Adair said there was a lot of play by the UNM team that is not good for the game of soccer.

Historic overtime win takes Lobos to semifinals

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo As fans at the UNM men's soccer team's 1-0 overtime win on Saturday ran carrying dismantled goalposts and chanting "Final Four" over and over, Lobo head coach Jeremy Fishbein said the only thing that could make the experience better would be the presence of his recently deceased father.

Overtime win saves season

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo All the security guards in the world could not have stopped the elated 4,552 fans from rushing the UNM field after a shootout win for the UNM men's soccer team Tuesday night. After coming back from the visiting team's fourth and fifth minute goals on Tuesday, the Lobos and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee went into a 10-minute overtime.

Leadership role a good fit

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo Four years ago a coach from Oregon State and an athletic kid from Highland High School joined the UNM men's basketball program. Head coach Ritchie McKay said he watched senior and team captain Mark Walters make tremendous strides since they began their careers at UNM.

UNM snags title; onward to NCAA

by Kristie Boudwin Daily Lobo UNM can finally guarantee a postseason for one football team this fall. The men's soccer team clinched the conference title and the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament Sunday in an overtime win against Air Force. Going into the game, three teams were still competing for the conference championship.
