Just for the record — I am aware that Hurricane Sandy caused many people to suffer dire hardships. Also, just for the record — Sandy was a very large storm and there was no way that the utility companies could have been fully prepared to deal with it.
It seems to me that in truly compassionate and united communities, some residents would have offered to assist the utility companies in repairing the damage caused by Sandy instead of spending their time complaining that the utility companies were not fixing the problems fast enough, and even, in some cases, protesting that the utility companies had not performed as they should have.
