Favorite shirt lose a button? Sew it back on. Local crafter Elizabeth Galvez said sewing buttons requires just a couple of sewing supplies and a few simple steps to get those annoying little fasteners back in place.

You will need a button, a medium/small needle, thread, scissors, and a marker.

Step 1: Loop the thread into the eye of the needle.

Step 2: Tie a knot at the end of the thread.

Step 3: Mark a small spot on the shirt where the button will be sewn and place the button in position.

Step 4: Starting from the back of the shirt, push the needle through the first buttonhole.

Step 5: In a diagonal direction, push the needle back through another hole. Repeat with the remaining holes in the button until the button is sewn onto the shirt tightly.

Step 6: Cut the thread at the back of the button and tie two knots to secure the thread into place.

Step 7: Cut off the excess thread.
