What with the top-tier Republican Presidential hopefuls falling over each other to pronounce how Christian they are, the enormous base of “Evangelicals” (what a pretty name for bigoted proselytizers) that they pander to is being emboldened even further into shattering the wall separating Church and State in places not just like Iowa. There is a kind of mutually-stroked escalation going on here, which, like forced oscillations from goose-stepping parades of Nazis of yore bringing down the bridge on which they are marching, is slated to bring down said wall, should one of these candidates get elected.
Already, Christianist reactionaries in our country are supporting Trump, who wants to ban all Muslims from entering the US, by buoying him up there in the polls. Will 2017 then see an erasure of the establishment clause in our very first Amendment?
