PHOTO STORY: Lobo volleyball gets revenge against Miners at The Pit
October 23After losing to UTEP in El Paso, the New Mexico Lobos bounced back days later with a 3-1 victory at The Pit on Saturday night. The set record betrays just how hard-fought the match was; New Mexico started with a 25-23 loss in set one, before winning the next three 25-22, 25-21 and 25-19. PHOTO STORY: Students celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Pinata Decorating Workshop
October 19In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, El Centro De La Raza hosted a piñata decorating workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The event served as a way for students to express their creativity through making traditional piñata. Students used craft materials like tissue paper and glue to make many shapes, including car-shaped piñata and butterflies. In addition to traditional large piñata, attendees also made miniature piñata ornaments to keep as souvenirs of the moment. The workshop also gave volunteers a glimpse as to what El Centro is about, serving as a way for students to connect with one another. PHOTOSTORY: ABQ Bruja Fest features wicked creations, local artists
October 13Expo New Mexico hosted the ABQ Bruja Fest on October 10–11, featuring all things wicked and magical. This fest offers a space for Albuquerque community members to showcase witchcraft activities and gifts with a variety of vendors, workshops and performances.
