Dogged pursuit of 'cover-up' is an embarrassment

Editor,

The GOP-led House Intelligence Committee recently released one of many reports absolving the Obama administration of any mishandling of the now-infamous Benghazi affair. The report comes out of the Intelligence Committee led and manipulated by the Republican members and its chairman.

So do you think the issue can be put to rest? Not on your life. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SoCo, just can’t let it go. He says the report is “full of crap.” Clearly, Graham has shown that his primary goal these days is to somehow make Obama the scapegoat for Lindsey’s imaginative cover-up of the facts of the incident. It seems he won’t rest until he comes up with “evidence” of a cover-up, at the least.

What is so distressing about Lindsey’s reaction to the report is that he was elected to serve the interests of his constituency in South Carolina, and his obsession with finding fault in Obama destroys any chance of that. Graham’s reaction to the Intelligence Committee report is an embarrassment to the institution he serves. Perhaps it is not the report that is “full of crap,” but Lindsey himself.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Paul
