Letter: Howl slate's school spirit serves student interests

Editor,

I am writing this letter to let the student body know why I support Storm Field, Alex Hughes and the "Howl" Slate in the upcoming ASUNM elections.

First, Howl cares about issues that affect all students. The slate's main goal of improving the parking situation is one every student can relate to. Who hasn't been stressed out about being late for an important class because the shuttles from G Lot or South Lot have been too packed to get a ride?

I also support its goal of bringing back 24-hour access to the main CIRT pod, because we all know the hours between midnight and 6 a.m. can be crucial to have computer access to finish a paper. This resource will limit the stress of not having a place to write or finish a paper later than midnight, and it would allow comfort to those who might be enduring unforeseen circumstances.

I also support Howl is its commitment to improving school spirit. The slate plans to work hard to see that we have a student section at The Pit, such as there is in most major universities. Just look at its name. When I think Howl, I think about people getting rowdy with Lobo Spirit, and the people on the Howl slate want to take that spirit to the next level.

I want to urge everyone to go out and make some noise at the polls on Wednesday by getting out and voting for Storm Field, Alex Hughes and Howl.
