GPSA passed a resolution Saturday demanding the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Do you think GPSA should address international issues or focus on issues directly related to UNM?

The graduate students are looking out for the students' best interests, and certainly, we can disagree over Iraq. But we should all agree on what's in our best interests here at the University. It has nothing to do with what's over there, in my opinion, and I happen to personally disagree with it

as well.

No, because that's what we go to school for. That's what we're learning about. We're learning to be proactive in our community and have national ideas as well, and to be able to speak about it and to find your voice so that you can speak about national issues.

They have a right to their own opinion and everybody should have a say, but I don't necessarily agree with what they're trying to push. But I say, why not? It's a free country.
