DL: So why did you want to come for the festival?
LB: Albuquerque is a hub for flamenco, and they have performances every night by the instructors that are here.
DL: Where else do you dance?
LB: Philadelphia.
DL: What kind of gigs do you get?
LB: I do flamenco at tableaus, restaurants.
DL: What do you love about flamenco?
LB: It's the only dance that you are a part of the music, and it's the only dance that your personality matters. You're not there doing steps. You have to be you - you have to have an air about you and a personal style to be really good. You have to bring yourself to the dance for it to be interesting.
DL: Can you tell me about your own personal style?
LB: My own personal style, well, I'm learning it here. I'm really finding myself. I'm finding out here - I've been dancing in Philadelphia for a while - and flamenco here is real flamenco. So I'm just finding that being myself dancing is OK. My personal style is kind of funky.
DL: Do you have any other hobbies?
LB: I make handmade leather accessories. More fashion accessories like corsets and kind of funky stuff, like sleeves, leg warmers and really crazy necklaces.
DL: Do you sell your work?
LB: Yes, I have my own company. It's called Qt Design.
DL: And how do you like New Mexico?
LB: New Mexico is the most beautiful place I've ever been to, ever. I know it's a big city, but it seems like a little town. People are so nice.
