Editor,
We respect and can’t forget the cultural, economic and political gifts that came from Native people. All of this combines to make the state of New Mexico what it is today. We can’t change history nor rewrite it, because that in fact would be a lie. The UNM seal, if it is in fact racist to some if not many, should be dealt with. Maybe, one day, we all will be subjected to some inhumane system and get a taste of how it feels. But that, in fact, would be something that I would want you to dream about.
