Kent L. Womack, an internationally known specialist on investment banking, will present "Stock Research Analysts and Conflicts of Interest" today at the UNM Education Building, Room 104, at 4 p.m.
Womack is a finance professor at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College and has worked with faculty at UNM's Anderson Schools of Management, said Shawn Shepherd, the school's director of development.
Womack will cover stock market issues, including insider trading, insider communication and other illegal actions that are often detrimental to investors.
He is the second speaker of this semester's Management Executive Speakers Series, which is free.
Shepherd said the Foundation Board of the Anderson Schools of Management, which includes 35 business leaders from throughout the community, began the series in the spring. The series will be a regular event every semester, she said.
The Anderson Schools offer more than a dozen business concentrations, Shepherd said, and one of the goals of the series is to have speakers address topics within the various interests.

The series is designed to work in conjunction with existing classes at the Anderson Schools, taking advantage of class time rather than creating entirely separate events, Shepherd said. Outside speakers present to the classes, which are then opened to the public.
