Editor,
Hello, my name is Aaron Kugler, and I am running for GPSA president. I am a first-year law student. I received my bachelor's degree in English and psychology from UNM.
As an undergraduate, I was involved in ASUNM, UNM's undergraduate student government. I served as the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and as Senate president pro tempore. These valuable experiences equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively run student government.
I am currently serving on the GPSA Finance Committee. This has given me the opportunity to see the strengths and weaknesses of GPSA. I believe the organization is a very valuable resource to our graduate and professional student population. I also believe changes could be made to improve GPSA's efficiency, representation and operation.
I would like to see more departments take a more active role in the organization. I would like to see the departments that utilize certain processes more than others have proportional representation.
I invite anyone with questions regarding my goals, background or GPSA in general to contact me. I can be reached at home at 266-1095 or by e-mail at kugleraa@law.unm.edu.

I would especially like to hear from current GPSA departmental representatives and from the leadership of the departmental student organizations.
