Editor,
Exclusion. Us versus them. Why does the urge for survival turn into willingness to destroy? Why can't we understand that we are connected, we are each other? All the materialism in the world won't shut out the sounds of dying that haunt us from the other side of the world - just another room - in the house of we.
Until we see ourselves when we look at the faces of each other, life on this earth won't be truly abundant. We are multidimensional beings capable of feeling what is happening far, far away from us. What gives us this capacity? Is it because in this house of "We," we are so intricately, mysteriously linked that we could say we are "one"? Why is giving so much more fulfilling than getting? Is it because in alleviating the other, we are alleviating ourselves too? And what does that say? That we are . we simply are. We Are.
I can't believe or buy the Bushshit that is being put out there, this whole "our survival versus their survival" bull. It's cruel and it's unthinking. It harms innocent people, and that includes all of us. There are better ways, better solutions that are good for everybody. We need better choices, and they're out there.
I dare you guys to print this - something so real, so off the hip and heart, so actual. Prove you don't edit for content that agrees with the exclusionary, so-called "right." Prove even rebels with plenty of cause can say their piece/peace.
