The University of New Mexico men’s and women’s basketball teams will soon be on their way to the Mountain West Conference Tournament in Las Vegas this year.
Lobo fans who are looking for options to make the trip have access to the Lobos in Las Vegas bus tour presented by Amazing Tours.
The trip will take place March 11-14 and includes round-trip transportation with a three-night stay at Excalibur Hotel and Casino.
The men’s conference tournament will take place March 11-14 and the women’s bracket will compete March 7-10.
Bobby Aragon is the owner of the Amazing Jumps Tents and Events and has been a lifelong fan of the Lobos. Aragon has been hosting the bus tour since 2010, and organized trips to last year's Mountain West Tournament and the Rate Bowl, where the Lobos faced off against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
“I try to keep this thing very affordable for local fans. Of course, there are the high-end hotels, so we're gonna stick to one that we can hopefully get more and more fans out there,” Aragon said.
The cheapest ticket goes for $295 and includes only the bus ride. The second ticket option is $495 and includes round-trip transportation to and from Las Vegas, as well as transportation to the games and a three-night stay in a double occupancy room.
The third ticket is priced at $625 and includes a round-trip to and from Las Vegas, transportation to the games and a three night stay in a single-person occupancy room.
“A lot of older folks love bus trips because they don't have to deal with long walks at the airport, and they love the social interaction of dealing with other local fans going on a long trip, and we take all the guesswork out for them. All they have to do is pay us, and I've already done all the behind-the-scenes planning for their accommodations,” Aragon said. To book a spot for the trip, fans can call 505-974-0215.
