Editor,
Over the past two years, I've noticed a steady decline in the quality of the Daily Lobo (a.k.a. the "Low Blow").
In particular, I was offended by a sexually explicit photo found as part of an early-December issue article's content. The inclusion of this photo was unnecessary, juvenile sensationalism. While I can ignore the equally juvenile titillation of the Haps section because it's advertising (and the question of the "Low Blow's" acceptance of such ads), I do scan the newspaper's content for items of interest. Now I find myself considering just clipping the crossword puzzle and tossing the rest unread.
Furthermore, I was not at all surprised to learn that the journalism program is not seeking re-accreditation, assuming that the Daily Lobo staff are even journalism majors. The current lack of professionalism ought to be a concern to those charged with the newspaper's governance.
