Baseball

The Lobos beat Northern Colorado in both games of a doubleheader on Saturday at Isotopes Park. UNM also won the first meeting of the two teams on Friday with a score of 11-8.

Jeff Grady went 4-for-7 in both games on Saturday with three home runs and six RBIs to help the Lobos win 9-5 and then 11-6.

UNM improved to 7-8 this season with the three wins.

Pitcher Danny Ray Herrera won his first game of the season in Game 1 after allowing two hits in six innings.

The Lobos return to action against New Mexico Highlands at Isotopes Park on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Softball

UNM fell to 3-14 this season with an 8-0 loss to Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday.

Pitcher Caley Peterson faced five batters to start the game before she was taken out after giving up five runs on four hits and a walk.

Senior Ashley Perkins came in to relieve Peterson and gave up two runs over the next 5.2 innings.

Texas Tech's Erin Crawford pitched a complete game for the Red Raiders, giving up three hits and no walks to go along with four strikeouts.

The Lobos' three hits came from sophomore Ryanne Hodgins and freshmen Chritina Rios and Kayce Danna.
