The UNM women's golf team had the third-best GPA in the nation in the 2004-2005 school year with a cumulative total of 3.628.
The Lobos placed five athletes - Giselle Claux, Kailin Downs, Alexandra Phelps, Christina Spence and Ashley Rollins - on the National Golf Coaches Association Scholar Team.
The University of South Carolina had the best GPA in the nation with a 3.752 cumulative total.
The Gamecocks won the inaugural NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award given to the team with the highest cumulative team GPA.
The Lobos begin their season on Sept. 12 at the Ptarmigan/Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.
