Editor,
I was just wondering when CIRT was planning on unblocking the Facebook Web site from UNM computers.
Facebook connects people through social networks at schools and is a great communication device for college students. When CIRT initially blocked Facebook a few months ago, they said it was temporary. Well, the semester is almost over, and students still cannot access the site on campus.
I've been able to reconnect with many friends and peers from high school. I never would have been able to without Facebook. Having access to Facebook from campus was much more convenient, and the site was utilized a lot more.
Now students that live on campus or don't have access to computers off-campus cannot use Facebook. I think it is time for the UNM administration to lift the block and resolve this now.
We miss Facebook.
