Letter: Victim's family thanks group for its kind gesture

I would like to express my family's sincere appreciation to the UNM freshman class called Making a Difference, college dean Peter White, Glenda Balas and others who helped in the planning and planting of the "truth Cedar" for the five victims John Hyde is charged with killing.

Our family has been deeply touched by the amount of compassion and support from the community and especially these young people who don't even know any of the families. We are truly humbled by what they have done to help keep our loved ones' memories alive.

You will all be in our prayers, and again, thank you all so very much, from all the Lopez family - Steve, Jose, Mike and myself.
