Louis Caldera who? The name sounds familiar, but I definitely wouldn't recognize him if I saw him on campus. Maybe if he had an entourage of administrative officials and honored guests I could deductively guess who the man in the suit is.
As long as I have attended this campus, almost three years, like Caldera, I have never seen him. It appears that UNM is infected with the dreaded Ivory Tower syndrome which is cured by more than an occasional gracing of Caldera's pious presence at formal events which are rarely attended by the "common" UNM student.
Most of what I "know" of Caldera are cookie-cutter quotes and over-generalized synopses of him likely created by his office. If I don't see him taking a more active role on campus among the students, teaching staff and faculty, this will speak loudest of all.
