The UNM women's basketball team improved to 14-4 with a 59-54 comeback victory against the Air Force Academy on Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The No. 18 Lobos trailed 52-47 with 3:55 left to play, but went on a 12-0 run to take control of the game late. UNM held Air Force to just two points in the final four minutes to grab the win. With the victory, the Lobos improve to 4-1 on the season in the Mountain West Conference.
Sophomore Dionne Marsh led the team in scoring as she poured in 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Sophomore Brandi Kimble added 11 points and three steals. Senior Abbie Letz continued to play well in the post, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds and chipping in seven points.
The Lobos had an off-night shooting, as they converted only 38 percent of their field goals. UNM made up for it by scoring 17 free throws in the second half while playing tough defense down the stretch.

Alecia Steele and Dawn Higginbotham led Air Force with 12 points each. Steele led the team with seven rebounds and Andrea Taylor dished out eight assists for the Falcons.
