4 seniors say goodbye at season's final meet

The UNM swimming and diving team closed out Senior Night in bittersweet fashion on Saturday, saying goodbye to the athletes graduating this year.

The Lobos were unable to overcome UNLV, losing 133-95.

The four seniors, Robyn Miller, Heather Morsilli, Kelsey Leckovic and Cassidy Lespreance, participated in the final home meet of their careers.

Miller grabbed a third-place finish in front of home fans, finishing with a time of 4:38.66. Leckovic was part of the Lobos' 200-yard freestyle relay team that earned second place in 1:40.36.

Junior Carrie Quinn continued to perform well on the diving board, and won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 284.85. She placed second on the 3-meter board scoring 259.80. Fellow diver, sophomore Tiffany Blackstone, earned a third-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 253.57.

Kristen Naber, a freshman, finished second in the 200-yard freestyle while stopping the clock in 2:01.62. Sophomore Torri Clarridge grabbed third place in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.19. Junior swimmer Jenna Syverson added another third place for UNM, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 25.03.

The final home meet of the year was also the last meet of the regular season. The Lobos will travel to Oklahoma on Feb. 22 for the Mountain West Conference Championships.
