You asked for it, and you got it.
Student Keith Hudson asked me - at the news conference where UNM President Louis Caldera resigned from his position - if the Daily Lobo could put Sudoku puzzles in the paper.
He said he was more mathematically inclined for those puzzles than the daily crossword found on the Features page.
Since then I have been asked by several other students if we could add these puzzles to the paper.
Good news to students with math brains. The Daily Lobo will now feature Sudoku puzzles every day on the Features page next to the crossword puzzle.
We will continue to run student Stephen McCranie's cartoons on the Features page on Tuesdays and the crossword will continue to run five days a week. We would never get rid of those.

You will also see something a little different on the Opinion page this semester. On the last Tuesday of every month will be a two-page spread focusing on a topic of discussion. This month the topic is diversity. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to submit thoughts, ideas and letters for this page. Please send letters to the Opinion editor at opinion@unm.edu or lobonews@unm.edu.
Our goal is to keep readers interested and picking up our paper. I hope these new elements will satisfy some of our mathematically inclined readers and give others something extra to read and participate in.
