With a win in the men's slalom and the men's 20K freestyle, the UNM ski team took second place at the NCAA West Regional in Reno, Nev.
The University of Colorado won the meet.
Dirk Grimm won the 20K for his third win of the year, while senior Geir-Endre Rogn took third place. Jedd Young finished 10th in the race for the best finish of the season.
Tor Fodnesbergene won the slalom for the men's Alpine team, followed by teammate Lars Loeseth who took second. Freshman Tyson McGinty took 19th place in his best race of the season.

Karin Ohlin took fifth place for the women's Alpine team, while fellow teammate Kathrin Spendier took 12th. Senior Gladys Weidt rounded out the scoring for the Lobos with a 15th-place finish.
For the women's Nordic team, sophomore Marit Rognmo took sixth place. Freshman Crystin Jacques came in right behind Rognmo in seventh place. Sophomore Laura Van Alst finished 12th for UNM.
The Lobos are one of three teams to qualify all 12 skiers for the NCAA Championships taking place March 8-11 in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Denver University and the University of Utah are the other two schools, while Colorado qualified 11 skiers.
