The UNM men's tennis team fell to the Brigham Young Cougars 5-2 on Thursday at the Lobo Tennis Club.
The loss snapped the Lobos' four-match winning streak to drop the team to 9-5 on the season. The Lobos are ranked No. 74. The unranked Cougars improved to 8-14.
UNM took the doubles point from the Cougars, but was able to win only one out of five singles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Lobos Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski beat James Ludlow and Jose Lechuga 9-7. With the win, Jones and Pajkowski boost their team-leading record to 11-2 on the season.

UNM's Eric Conklin and Graeme Kassautzki won for the third time in a row at the No. 3 doubles, beating Dominick Kaufhold and Ivan Kokurin 8-5.
Johnny Parkes and Miles Bugby dropped their doubles match 8-6 to the Cougars' Christian Hand and Jonathan Sanchez.
The only singles player to win his match was Johnny Parkes at the No. 2 singles spot. He beat Dominick Kaufhold 6-4, 6-0 for his fourth win in a row.
UNM takes on the No. 29-ranked Texas Christian Horned Frogs today at 1:30 p.m. at the Lobo Tennis Complex.
