Jay Choi grabs second win of season

Staff Report

Jay Choi led the UNM men's golf team to its fourth consecutive Mountain West Conference Championship on Saturday in Bend, Ore., winning the individual title in the process.

The Lobos led the conference tournament the whole weekend, beating runner-up San Diego State University by five strokes. UNM finished with a 1-over par 865. The Aztecs finished 6-over par at 871.

Choi was the only player in the tournament to finish under par at the MWC Championships. He was also named to the All-MWC team. The senior finished with a 1-under 215 after shooting a 1-over final round of 73. Choi, who won his second tournament of the season, played on all of the past four UNM conference championship teams.
