The UNM women's tennis team fell to No. 1-seed Texas Christian University in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Championships, losing 4-1 Friday in San Diego.
The Lobos opened the contest by winning the doubles point, but were unable to earn a singles victory.
In the No. 1 doubles spot, Maja Kovacek and Iva Gersic defeated Helena Besovic and Ana Cetnik of TCU, 9-8.
The Lobos also had success in the No. 2 doubles match, as Ola Abou-Zekry and Lucy Scott won their match, 8-4. In the No. 3 spot, Kewa Nichols and Nicole Leimbach handled Nora Quintal and Maria Sotirchos of UNM, 8-3.

Besovic defeated Gersic 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles spot, while Sydorska beat Quintal, 6-3, 6-1.
Nichols beat Scott 7-6, 6-0 in the No. 5 spot, and TCU clinched the match when Glorian Lopez beat Jennifer Ryba 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 6 spot. The No. 1 and No. 4 singles matches did not finish because TCU had already won the four points needed to take the match.
