Editor,
As temperatures reached near 100 degrees Monday, I could not help but notice that the University was watering lawns in the heat of the day - past 11 a.m. Lawns were being watered at the law school and other north campus locations and on the main campus.
I would hope that as an educational facility, we could take a leadership role in water conservation and try to minimize water use by watering at night or early morning. Wasting water like this during a drought is probably not the best example the University should be setting.
