Staff Report
Ritchie McKay didn't take too long to find a new home.
The former UNM men's basketball head coach - who was fired Feb. 22 - will be coaching Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., according to several news sources.
McKay was fired after five seasons as head coach of the Lobos. Last season, UNM finished 15-17, last place in the Mountain West Conference, despite a 5-0 start. McKay went 82-69 during his tenure at UNM.
UNM will pay McKay about $600,000 for being fired before his contract ended.
