Men's golf

The UNM men's golf team wrapped up its home tournament with a seventh-place finish this weekend.

The Lobos were led by Steve Saunders, who finished the William H. Tucker Invitational with a 1-under 215. Saunders was in the running going into Saturday's final round after shooting 70 and 71 in his first two rounds. However, he shot a 74 in the final round to finish tied for seventh.

UNM's Jacob Lestishen tied for second overall but competed individually, so his score did not count toward the Lobos' team score. Lestishen shot 212 for the tournament.

Pepperdine won the tournament, shooting an even 864 to finish four strokes ahead of San Diego State. Pepperdine's Jesse Barnsley won the individual title with a 12-under 201.

UNM travels to Seattle for the Husky Invitational hosted by Washington on Oct. 1.
