Editor,
No politician has a flawless diplomatic record, but I'm inclined to vote for John McCain for several reasons.
On May 18, Sen. Barack Obama ignorantly claimed nations such as Iran, Cuba and Venezuela do not pose a threat to America because they are geographically small in comparison to Russia. In case Obama has not noticed, Iran's motto is "Death to America," and they are actively developing a nuclear weapons program that poses a serious threat to America's homeland security. As for Cuba, it most likely has an intimate alliance with China, since they are both communist nations. According to U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus, a "premature drawdown of our forces would likely have devastating consequences."
Obama's plan to withdraw our troops from Iraq in 16 months could lead to another major terrorist attack on American soil. Obama's foreign policy plan seems irrational and unrealistic to me. He does not have the military experience needed to be America's next commander in chief.
Another reason to vote against Obama is because the thought of having someone whose middle name is Hussein take the oath of the Oval Office is quite disturbing to me, because that is the last name of the former Iraq dictator. Also, Ahmed Yousef, a senior adviser to Gaza's Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, recently said, "We like Mr. Obama and hope that he will win the election."
So I strongly urge all Americans to realize that Obama is not the right man to become president in January 2009. He's not the prototypical messiah that America needs.
