The Second Amendment says, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Presently, the right to bear arms is being threatened by Barack Obama.
A firearm is a tool. Compare it to a hammer. If a hammer is lying on the ground, can it cause any harm? A firearm is a tool, and unless it is used with the intention of harming another individual, it remains a tool.
For 15 years, Rich Pearson has served in the Illinois state capitol as the chief lobbyist for the Illinois State Rifle Association. He lobbied Obama extensively while he was a senator. Pearson said, "Although Obama claims to be an advocate for the Second Amendment, his voting record in the Illinois Senate paints a very different picture." While in the Senate, Obama voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens. That same bill would authorize state police to raid homes of gun owners and forcibly confiscate banned guns. He supported another bill that would shut down firearm manufacturers, including Springfield Armory, ArmaLite, River Rock Arms and Les Baer. He also voted for a bill that would prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing more than one gun per month.
Obama and Joe Biden have supported the gun ban in Washington, D.C., and Obama voted against raising this ban. Obama endorsed a complete ban on handgun ownership. And last, but not least, Obama voted four times against legislation that would allow a homeowner to use a firearm in defense of home and family.
Obama has many friends who share his perspective. Rev. Michael Pfleger has openly called for the murder of gun shop owners and pro-gun legislators. Richard Daley, the mayor of Chicago, has declared that if it were up to him, nobody would be allowed to own a gun. Also, Obama's friend George Soros has put millions of dollars into the U.N. for the purpose of internationally disarming law-abiding citizens.

Beyond this, not only has Obama pretended to support firearm owners and such; his attorney wrote to cable networks and TV stations demanding they do not show the NRA ad that showed Obama's position on gun ownership. They threatened to make a complaint to the FCC if the ad ran.
If he was to ban guns and forcibly have them taken away from law-abiding citizens, do you really think the criminals would give their guns up? Isn't it better to believe that people may protect themselves and their loved ones against horrible crimes by being able to use a firearm? Criminals would think twice about a shooting of any kind if they were aware their potential victims might be protected by a firearm.
