Thanks to the Jan. 14 edition of the Albuquerque Journal regarding David Harris' "bonus" and deferred compensation payments, now it's all very clear where the money is going that has been "harvested" from the departments.
Faculty and staff don't get bonuses, and we don't get car allowances. We all work hard, and all we get are platitudes and pats on the head while Harris, the other executive vice presidents and President David Schmidly rake in huge bonuses and allowances. Our allowance is zero, zilch, nada. Try living on that Harris, Schmidly and all the little regents. And don't bellyache at us that your 401(k) has gone down and that "I may never get a chance to retire." I don't want to hear it anymore.
