The UNM men's track and field team finished second at the Mountain West Conference meet, easily eclipsing its highest finish in school history. Before that, the Lobos had finished no higher than fifth place. The women finished in fifth place.
Jarrin Solomon garnered the gold medal in the men's 400-meter run, finishing with a time of 47.17. Solomon is still undefeated this season.
UNM grabbed seven other medals. Lee Emanuel 1:50.15 time was good enough to capture a silver medal in the 800-meter dash. Rory Fraser and Domnick Meadows also brought home silver medals. Fraser finished in 8:21.44 in the 3,000-meter run, while Meadows outleaped the competiton in the triple jump, on his way to silver.
The 4x400 men's relay team shared in the accolades, nabbing another silver medal for UNM, and Ariel Burr ended her last MWC Championship with a silver medal, putting together a time of 54.05, which lowered her NCAA Provisional qualifying time by .33 seconds.
