Baseball
The UNM baseball team dropped two games at Nebraska over the weekend.
The Lobos’ first game versus the Cornhuskers on Friday was canceled due to inclement weather.
On Saturday, UNM had a 5-0 lead through five innings, but in the bottom of the sixth Nebraska scored seven runs to take a 7-5 advantage. The Cornhuskers added one more run in the bottom of the seventh and went on to win 8-5.
In the series finale on Sunday, the Lobos were shutout for the first time this season in a 3-0 loss.
UNM has lost four straight games and is now 2-6 on the year.
Softball
The Lobo softball team went 2-3 over the weekend at the San Diego Classic I Tournament Central in San Diego.
UNM defeated Utah State 4-2 and San Diego 2-1 in 11 innings on Friday.
On the second day of the tournament, the Lobos lost 6-2 to Long Beach State and 6-1 to BYU.
UCLA demolished UNM on Sunday 14-3 in five innings. The Lobos sit at 11-12 overall on the season.
Women’s basketball

In Laramie, Wyo., the UNM women’s basketball team was handed a 72-50 thrashing by Wyoming.
Senior guard Caroline Durbin scored a team-high 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while junior forward Deeva Vaughn added 14.
Wyoming senior forward Ashley Sickles had a game-high 18 points with eight rebounds.
With two games left in the regular season, the Lobos are 14-13 overall and 6-8 in the Mountain West Conference.
Men’s tennis
The UNM men’s tennis team lost 5-2 versus Miami on Saturday.
Freshman Andrew Van Der Vyver and senior Conor Berg defeated Wilfredo Gonzalez and Marco Stancati in number one doubles 8-5. In number three doubles, sophomore James Hignett and junior Mads Hegelund defeated Diego Soto and Henrique Tsukamoto 8-6.
Sophomore Samir Iftikhar fell in a three-set match to Soto with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) in the number one singles. Senior Jadon Phillips fell to Gabriel Flores with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in number two singles. At number three singles, Berg faced Gonzalez and lost 6-2, 6-2.
Women’s tennis
The UNM women’s tennis team fell 5-2 to Montana on Friday.
Junior Michaela Bezdickova and senior Laura Richardson lost to Heather Davidson and Laurence Pelchat in number one doubles 8-6.
Junior Nikolina Grbac and senior Kristin Eggleston were defeated by Maddy Murray and Sasha Carter 8-4 in number two doubles.
In the number one singles, Bezdickova won her match against Davidson with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
