Enrollment for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), or benefits offered by UNM, will soon be available to University employees. Sign-ups begin on Oct. 28 and run through Nov. 11, according to a UNM press release. Employees are encouraged to start planning.
Two FSA plans are offered: the Health FSA and Dependent Care FSA. According to the press release, the plans are available to benefit eligible staff and faculty.
The release states that a predetermined dollar amount is deduction based on an employee’s annual election and the money can be utilized for eligible out-of-pocket expenses determined by the IRS.
The Dependent Care FSA will allow employees to be gainfully employed while helping with child and/or elderly dependent care expenses according to the statement.
