Kirtland commander to speak at UNM

UNM Anderson School of Management is hosting its annual Boerigter Business Breakfast Program at Hotel Andaluz on Dec. 4, featuring Col. Eric Froehlich of Kirtland Air Force base, according to a University statement.

“As part of his presentation, Froehlich will outline the mission of Kirtland, give details about his planning process and offer examples of how his leadership style contributes to the success of the billion dollar operation,” according to the statement.

Froehlich commands the base, where there are around 25,000 civilians and military personnel working on a daily basis.

According to the release, Kirtland Air Force base contributed $7.6 billion to the region in the fiscal year 2014, making it one of the driving economic forces in the Albuquerque area.

Froehlich is a decorated military veteran and was honorably discharged in 1992, the release stated. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with military distinction. His accolades range from leading combat deployments in Operation Iraqi freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom,  and also serving as vice commander of the 82nd Training Wing at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 at Hotel Andaluz.

The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP to the event go to www.mgt.unm.edu/events/rsvp/b2b or contact Felicia Rodriquez at 277-1504.
