​UNM to host FAFSA workshops

According to a UNM Newsroom press release, several departments and programs at The University of New Mexico will be hosting FAFSA workshops leading up to the priority deadline of March 1. 

The Office of Admissions, College Enrichment Program, American Indian Student Services and El Centro de la Raza have each scheduled workshops during the month of February, according to the press release.

According to the press release, financially dependent students should bring the following information for the person who claims them as a dependent, as well as for themselves: Federal Student Aid ID, social security number, driver’s license or ID, records of untaxed income (if applicable), completed 2015 tax forms and bank statements and records of investments (if applicable).In addition, American Indian Student Services will host free drop-in financial aid workshops on Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall room 1119, according to the press release.

Students are asked to bring the following to the workshops: Student and parent FSA ID, 2015 student and parent federal tax return, 2015 student and parent W-2.

According to the press release, more FAFSA workshops are also being offered by El Centro de la Raza on Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall room 1153.

Students are asked to bring the following: completed tax forms for 2015, W-2 forms for student and parent/guardian and have parent/guardian signature on FAFSA before it is turned in, according to the press release.
